{About Sam}

Sam grew up in a family with one sister and three brothers, in which he was the youngest. Sam was raised on a farm. They have sold the farm, but Sam is grateful for the experiences it taught him. We live close to most of his family and see them frequently. Sam is a very hard worker and has been successful in owning his own construction company. He also worked hard at building our home. We spent many hours together building our home. Sam likes his job because it gives him the flexibility to be able to spend a lot of time with his family.

Lacey Describes Sam: Sam is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met. He understands everything I say. Although we sometimes differ in opinions he always can see where I am coming from. We have an ongoing joke that my family likes him more than me. It is just that he is so easy to get along with. Sam is also one of the most selfless people I know. He is always putting others needs before his own. Sam loves sports and we enjoy watching many sporting advents as a family. He often get up early so he can fit in a round of golf or water skiing before work. Sam is also great with his hands and loves wood working and building. His mind is always turning and thinking up new ways he can build something.

{About Lacey}

Lacey grew up in a family with three other siblings. They get together often and enjoy each other’s company. Lacey loves being a stay-at-home mom. She loves learning new things and is often looking for a challenge. She loves being around family and friends and is a very social person. She can often be found at the park with the kids, her friends, and their kids. She has recently found a new love to run. She has even roped Sam into some races. But most of all, she loves nothing more than to ENJOY everyday she has with her family and watching them grow and succeed.

Sam Describes Lacey: Lacey is a very outgoing person who loves to spend time with her family and friends. She especially loves being a mom. She has so much fun with Ali and Nic. I love coming home to see them laying on the floor playing. Lacey is very talented and loves to do different projects around the house. She enjoys scrapbooking, sewing, and making whatever is new and cute. She is a very hard worker and is very driven when she sets her mind to something.

{About Ali}

Ali is 4 1/2 years old. She loves preschool and is looking forward to going to Kindergarten in the fall. She is full of attitude and personality. She loves playing outside riding her bikes and finding rocks. She is pretty "girlie" but enjoys playing with the many neighbor boys. She loves her brother more than anything and their bond is very special. She loves to be a part of his bed time routine and loves telling him "goodnight" and giving him "kissies".

Nic is full of love. He is the happiest kid I know. Many Strangers comment on his smile and how content he is. He loves to play with balls, trucks, or ride with his sister in their pretend car. He is very smart and LOVES to see his dad come home. He is a people person and often steals the hearts of many.

We are so grateful for him in our family and for the peace, joy, and happiness he brings to it. We are blessed to be called his parents.

We want the same things for all of our kids. We want them to grow up in a house full of love. Where they can feel like they can be themselves and grow to their fullest abilities. We want to be there for all of our children cheering them on in whatever it is they choose to do.

Nic and His Birthmom

We look forward to making you a part of our family as well. We feel that an open adoption is healthy for all people involved. We would love nothing more then for your child to be raised knowing of the strength and courage that his or her birthparents have. There will never be a time that your baby will not know of you or that he or she is adopted.

Our second child, Nicholas, joined us through the miracle of adoption. We are so grateful to his birthmother and the sacrifice that she made. After watching his birth and being there to witness his placement gave us so much appreciation for all that his birthmother did. We have a great relationship with his birth mom, who lives close by, so we are able to see her frequently. We want to raise Nic so that he always knows that he is adopted and how special it is. We often read him the letter his birth mom wrote as a bed time story.

We would love to exchange pictures,emails, and letters with you so that you will always know how we are doing. We are willing to share as little or as much information that you would like with them. We would like to talk about what is comfortable for all involved.

{Why we CHOOSE to adopt}

I know this kind of seems strange but we knew that we wanted to adopt early on. We both knew we wanted to adopt before we were even married. While we were dating we talked about it. One year after being married we became pregnant with our daughter Ali. We had a rough pregnancy in which she was born 7 weeks premature and weighed only 2lbs. 12 oz. A couple of years later we decided to get pregnant again. We found out we were having twins and were thrilled. We soon found out that Ella had not made it, and Ava was born 11 weeks early with many complications. Six weeks after they were born she returned to her father in heaven and sister. We have grown stronger as a family with this experience. We try daily to live accordingly to be able to make it back to them. We were advised not to get pregnant again. We truly feel blessed to adopt. We feel that we have been given a gift from our father in heaven. A new hope. We take adoption seriously and know that it is an important decision. The lord had made it clear to us that this is the way he wants our family to continue to grow! This is why we say we CHOOSE to adopt, it is not that we have to adopt, we feel it an honor!

{How We Met}

After high school Lacey traveled south to go to college. She started her freshman year and loved it. She thought she could do the college thing for a long time. In January, Sam returned home from serving for his church. He looked forward to starting school the next semester. Lacey and her roomates decided to head off to San Diego for Spring Break to catch some rays and enjoy some shopping. While they were shopping in a mall a group of guys approched them. One of them asked Lacey "if she went to school in St. George?" She said "yes" he said "you sit in front of me in English" to her surprise she never had noticed him. (no this guy was not Sam) They decided to switch numbers and hang out later in San Diego. They both found that they weren't many single people with the same intrests in San Diego during Spring Break. ;) They ended up meeting up later and hanging out a lot of the time they stayed in San Diego. When they got back to St. George they continued to stay friends and happened to bring along one of their friends named Sam. The rest is history;)

{Our Family}

We have the best family we could ever ask for. Sam's family moved here when he was six. He has three older brothers and one older sister. He is the baby of the family and gets teased about it often. His next oldest brother is five years older than him and they love teasing him about being spoiled. His family has pretty much always had a farm growing up. When they moved to St. George they didn't live on the farm but had to go over and work their often. They developed the land a couple of years ago and Sam misses that. He still loves animals and dreams of someday having something to do with cattle. Sam's has 4 nieces (one of which is adopted), and 9 nephews. We love them so much. Sam was only 11 when his first newphew was born. He has enjoyed watching all of his nieces and nephews grow up and being very active and supportive each of their lives.

Lacey's family grew up in Northern Utah. She has two sisters and one brother. She is the second oldest. Her parents got divorced when she was sixteen and both later remarried. She now has 6 step sibilings and one half sister. She loves them so much and is so very greateful for the infulence they have in her life. We have one niece and one nephew on Lacey's side.
